Farvergården

MUSEUM, CAFÉ, COURTYARD AND SHOP

Farvergården was originally an ancient merchant’s house, built in 1630. The current building was part of a larger complex on the same site. In 1935, when Kerteminde Museum was established as a private concern, the museum association bought No. 8, Langegade. Up until that point, for almost 100 years Farvergården had been owned by the Hinkes, a family of dyers: hence the name ‘Farvergården’ (the Dyer’s Yard).
